Cleaning Up
We timed it: it took Cora 15 seconds to go from playing on a blanket with her toys to get over to the DVDs and start cleaning up!

Visiting
Cora (and her parents) went down to Charlotte for a visit. We all had a fantastic time, and we even got to catch up with Neil and Jill!

10,958
Well, I should be in bed; my alarm clock will go off in less than 6 1/2 hours.
Before I go, as I do every night, I stopped in to check on Cora. She was sleeping soundly. Even a deft peck on the cheek didn't wake her.
I was about to go to bed when two things crossed my mind: 1, A quick glass of water would be nice before hitting the hay, and 2, I am so happy.
Here's hoping the next 10,958 days work out as well as the first 10,958!

Cora and Lawson
Cora got a surprise visit from Lawson Wineman. Ready to impress, Cora showed off her improving skills at standing (up against the couch!)
Celtic
Cora gets the best seat in the house for the Celtic game. More accurately, Cora gets a lap on the best seat in the house!

Don't be fooled by the smile...
...Cora is actually torturing her Dad by pulling out hairs on his leg. As you can see, Cora is full of remorse.

Gripe, Grumble, or something else?
I'd like to think that it isn't quite the same as an artiste standing back and admiring a piece of art, but it's been fun reading through some previous posts.
Cora recently had her six month check-up. She actually went in because Amanda and I were worried about a tiny blood spot in her eye (which was nothing), but the Doctor - in the spirit of saving us time - said he could squeeze in the check up. Thanks Doctor Bobby!
Needless to say, Cora is fine. Her weight is great; you can see that increasing weight isn't an issue, and all her measurements look great.
I'm actually in Washington DC on a business trip. This may sound exotic, in a very suave-businessman-type way, but I've discovered something: this is just code for 1. Sleeping in a strange bed, 2. being away from family, 3. missing family.
This brings me back to my first point; it's been fun reading through Cora's little space on the web.
I should mention that Amanda has been a real trooper while I've been away. Before you say it, yes, she's a trooper all the time, but particularly at the moment. Amanda will put a brave spin on the situation, but I'm sure it's not easy. However, she might also say that only taking care of one baby is a welcome relief from the stress of caring for the usual number of two babies.
Amanda and Cora went on their first solo trip of great distance. They went all the way to Maryland to visit Claude and Steph. Cora will undoubtedly detest me for this at some point in the future, but I have to say that I think this picture of her at the beech is wonderful.

Likewise, I'm sure Amanda will mention - at some point - that the picture of her holding Cora shows some feature or other that she doesn't like. But again, I think it's wonderful.
Here's the trip!

I am excited to be going home tomorrow. I am excited to be seeing my ladies again. That makes it sound like I've just been picked up from Apollo 13, and while my trip to DC has been nothing special, it has been my longest trip away from the house since 2/22. (This is the point where Amanda would tell you that Paul McCartney only spent one night away from Linda during their entire marriage. I then - gently - point out that all his good deeds are null and void because he allowed Ringo's voice near a microphone. Just bang the drums, Ringo, bang the drums)
Here's hoping that we make a timely departure from DC and avoid all the traffic...

Good with the Bad
The good news: Cora loves little bread biscuits. The bad news: most of the little bread biscuits don't end up in her mouth!
Rendezvous with Noodle at Nana and Pop's House
It may sound like Thai cuisine, but the title explains our wonderful trip down to NC with Grommy to visit Nana and Pop, and to meet up with Aunt Renata!

Banana
A test run with a new teething gadget filled with Banana proved two things: 1. Cora likes the taste of Banana, and 2. Cora isn't quite up to speed on how to eat Bananas...still, not many bananas come in little mesh bags.
The Art of Drinking
Cora has recently realized a facination with anything made out of glass. Still, this seems to be an excellent example of trying to run before being able to crawl.

Cora Eats!
Cora made another first recently: she just started eating solids. Well, it would be fairer to say that the food went in her mouth, whether or not she ate it is a matter of debate
